RESEARCH PROMOTION COMMITTEE
The college is dedicated to promoting the spirit of Research and Innovation, and this commitment is exemplified by the recently started research departments in Malayalam and Chemistry. The Research Promotion Committee, led by a dedicated group of faculty members, actively shares information about research-related events, proposal calls, available grants from diverse funding sources, and organizes pertinent workshops and seminars.
The review committee is responsible for assessing the feasibility, providing initial funding, ensuring ethical compliance and methodological correctness of submitted research proposals, and inspiring teachers to embark on both minor and major projects. Moreover, it encourages their participation in national and international conferences, where they can present their research papers.

ETHICAL GUIDELINES
The code of ethics for research serves as a declaration of the fundamental principles of integrity and diligence that govern all research and project endeavours undertaken at Govt College Kattappana, which is affiliated with MG University of Kerala. Adhering to the research recommendations outlined by the UGC is obligatory.
1. All students are expected to uphold the utmost standards of integrity, honesty, and professionalism in every aspect of their involvement in any study, project, or assignment.
2. Honesty and Integrity: Researchers should conduct their work with honesty and integrity, including accurate reporting of results and transparent disclosure of any conflicts of interest.
3. Students are required to submit original work for assignments, projects, and dissertations. Any form of plagiarism or the presentation of someone else's work as their own is strictly prohibited.
4. Engaging in plagiarism or misrepresenting involvement or authorship constitutes a breach of ethical standards and integral practices. Such actions, whether at the undergraduate or postgraduate levels, will result in a downgrade and necessitate resubmission.
5. Data Management: Researchers should handle and manage research data appropriately, ensuring its security, integrity, and long-term accessibility.
6. Publication Ethics: Researchers should adhere to ethical standards when submitting research for publication, including avoiding duplicate publication and fraudulent manipulation of data.
7. Human Rights: Research should not infringe upon the human rights of participants, and studies involving vulnerable populations require additional safeguards.
8. Conflict of Interest: Researchers should disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that might compromise the integrity of their research.
9. It is imperative to ensure the validity and reliability of collected data.
10. Social Responsibility: Researchers have a responsibility to consider the potential broader impacts and ethical implications of their work on society and the environment.
11. Replication and Verification: Researchers should support the replication and verification of their work, contributing to the overall transparency and reliability of research findings.
