Submission & Peer-Review Process

TALK Journal of Social Sciences follows a structured peer-review process to ensure academic rigor and quality in every publication.

  1. Manuscript Submission – Authors must submit original, unpublished research articles formatted according to our submission guidelines.
  2. Editorial Screening – The editorial board performs an initial assessment to check the relevance, originality, and adherence to guidelines.
  3. Double-Blind Peer Review – Submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind review process, where reviewers evaluate the manuscript without knowing the authors’ identity and vice versa.

Publication Ethics and Policies

The TALK Journal of Social Sciences is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing. We adhere to the principles set by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and follow internationally recognized ethical guidelines for authors, editors, and reviewers.

Our publication ethics policy ensures that all research published in our journal is original, free from misconduct, and contributes to the advancement of knowledge in social sciences. We expect authors, reviewers, and editors to comply with ethical best practices in research and publishing.

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors ✍️

Authors submitting their manuscripts to the TALK Journal of Social Sciences are required to follow ethical research and publication practices to ensure credibility and integrity in academic publishing.

1.1 Originality and Plagiarism

  • Authors must submit original research that has not been published elsewhere and is not under review in any other journal.

  • Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or data fabrication is strictly prohibited. The journal uses plagiarism detection software to verify originality.

  • Any paraphrased or quoted material must be properly cited following the journal’s referencing guidelines.

1.2 Authorship and Contribution

  • Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research process (conceptualization, data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation).

  • All authors should approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.

  • Ghost authorship, honorary authorship, and artificial authorship are unethical and strictly prohibited.

1.3 Data Transparency and Integrity

  • Authors must ensure that their research data, methods, and findings are accurate, reliable, and reproducible.

  • Data manipulation, falsification, or selective reporting is considered unethical.

  • If necessary, authors should be prepared to provide raw data or supplementary materials for editorial review.

1.4 Conflicts of Interest

  • Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest that may influence their research findings.

  • Any funding sources or affiliations that may impact research outcomes should be transparently mentioned in the manuscript.

1.5 Ethical Considerations in Research Involving Humans and Animals

  • Research involving human participants or animals must comply with ethical guidelines, including obtaining informed consent and approval from relevant ethics committees or institutional review boards (IRB).

  • Authors should provide details of ethical approvals in their manuscript.

1.6 Acknowledgments and Funding Disclosure

  • Contributors who did not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged separately.

  • Any funding agencies or grants supporting the research must be disclosed in the manuscript.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

The TALK Journal of Social Sciences follows a double-blind peer review process, ensuring fairness and confidentiality. Reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the journal’s academic standards.

2.1 Confidentiality

  • Reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential and should not discuss or share manuscript details with others.

  • They should not use unpublished manuscript content for their own research.

2.2 Objectivity and Constructive Feedback

  • Reviews should be objective, constructive, and free from personal bias.

  • Reviewers should provide clear, well-reasoned critiques and suggest improvements without being offensive or derogatory.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

The TALK Journal of Social Sciences welcomes high-quality, original research contributions from scholars, academicians, and professionals in various domains of social sciences. This section provides detailed author guidelines to ensure clarity, consistency, and academic integrity in submissions.

By adhering to these guidelines, authors can ensure a smooth submission, review, and publication process.

1. Manuscript Categories Accepted

The journal accepts the following types of scholarly submissions:

Research Articles – Original empirical or theoretical research contributions in social sciences.
Review Articles – Comprehensive literature reviews that synthesize and critically evaluate research in a specific field.
Case Studies – Analysis of real-world cases providing practical insights and applications.
Book Reviews – Critical analysis and discussion of recently published books in social sciences.
Commentaries & Opinion Pieces – Short articles presenting perspectives on contemporary social science issues.

2. Manuscript Formatting Guidelines

2.1 General Formatting

  • File Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.

  • Font & Size: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font for the main text.

  • Line Spacing: 1.5 spacing throughout the document.

  • Margins: 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides.

  • Page Numbering: All pages should be numbered consecutively at the bottom right corner.

  • Section Headings: Use bold, title case for major headings and italicized subheadings.

2.2 Manuscript Structure

Title Page

The first page should include:
     Title of the Paper (Concise, clear, and informative)
     Author(s) Full Name(s) (First name, Middle initial, Last name)
     Affiliation(s) (Institution, Department, Country)
     Corresponding Author Details (Email)
     ORCID ID (if available)

Abstract

  • The abstract should be 150-250 words, summarizing the study’s objective, methodology, key findings, and conclusion.

  • It should be self-contained without citations or abbreviations.

Keywords

  • Provide 4-6 keywords relevant to the research topic.

  • Keywords should be separated by commas and arranged alphabetically.

Main Manuscript Sections

1️⃣ Introduction

  • Introduce the research problem, objectives, and significance.

  • Provide a brief review of relevant literature.

  • Clearly state the research questions or hypotheses.

2️⃣ Literature Review

  • Discuss existing research and theoretical frameworks related to the topic.

  • Identify research gaps and justify the study’s relevance.

3️⃣ Methodology

  • Describe the research design, data collection methods, sampling, and analysis techniques used.
